Tourism Environmental Awareness Month

In conjunction with DEMA (Department of Environmental and Maritime Affairs), Elisa Simmons School and Grand Turk Cruise Center (GTCC), this week went out to help with the cleanup of the beach area south of the Osprey Hotel and also along Front Street, Grand Turk. This was part of the Tourist Boards Environmental Awareness Month, which has included educating the children of the islands about the importance of keeping the islands clean. Along with assistance from local dive companies and other businesses several days of clean up have taken place. The team of children and GTCC crew filled over 50 bags and removed three truck loads of trimmings and larger pieces of debris. Overall a great day even when the heavens open and everyone ran for cover.
